A local authority client of mine, based in the North East of England, is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer specializing in Food Safety to join their team for 6 months, with a likelihood of extension.

The right candidate will hold a relevant Environmental Health qualification and have experience in carrying out food hygiene inspections and investigations, including preparing reports for formal action and serving statutory notices.

The majority of the work involves ensuring that food safety standards and health regulations are upheld in all commercial environments, promoting public health, safety, and sustainability. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, assessing risks, and implementing measures to manage food-related hazards and ensure compliance with legislation.
