Job description

Class1 Personnel are looking to recruit on a permanent basis an individual with Ocean Freight experience who are looking for the next step up

Salary starting at 32,000K based on a 37.5 hour week

Responsibilities:

• Keep up to date with all transport, shipping, VAT, import/export and HMRC regulations, changes and ensure compliance
• Coordinate and manage all customs matters related to international shipments
• Liaise with suppliers to ensure correct documentations are provided for all shipments
• Ensure accurate information is communicated to forwarders and clearing agents
• Prioritise work tasks and calls out to Lead Supervisor

Key skills:

• High attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good IT skills, and intermediate level of Excel with experience of formulas
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Problem solving and alternative solution thinking
• Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive environment, working to tight deadlines and being able to multitask across changing priorities

Essential Experience:

• Minimum 2 years experience of freight forwarding within ocean, air and road freight
• Experience and understanding of shipping documentation e.g Bills of Lading
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures
