Job Opportunity: Ocean Freight Operator

Class1 Personnel is seeking a dedicated individual with ocean freight experience who is looking to advance their career. This is a permanent position offering a starting salary of £32,000 based on a 37.5-hour workweek.

Responsibilities:

• Stay updated on transport, shipping, VAT, import/export, and HMRC regulations, ensuring compliance.
• Manage all customs-related matters for international shipments.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure proper documentation for shipments.
• Communicate accurately with forwarders and clearing agents.
• Prioritize tasks and communicate with the Lead Supervisor.
• Maintain high attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Possess good IT skills, particularly intermediate Excel skills with formulas.
• Work independently and collaboratively.
• Apply problem-solving skills and consider alternative solutions.
• Work efficiently under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and multitask effectively.
• Have at least 2 years of freight forwarding experience in ocean, air, and road freight.
• Understand shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading.
