Cyber Security Analyst
£36,408 (includes £2,658 non-concessionary payment)
Flexible working: Full-time, part-time, and compressed hours. Around 20% home working possible depending on business needs.
GCHQ is an intelligence, cyber, and security agency tasked with keeping the UK safe. We use advanced technology and partnerships to identify, analyze, and disrupt threats, working closely with MI5 and MI6.
You will work with a team to protect against cyber threats such as malware, insider threats, DoS attacks, and phishing. Your tasks include analyzing alerts, logs, network traffic, developing detection content, and using threat intelligence to improve security measures. You may also support digital forensics activities.
You're passionate about IT and eager to develop in cybersecurity. You have scripting experience, knowledge of Windows and Linux, and familiarity with Python. Interest in AWS and Azure is also desirable. You hold a foundational cybersecurity certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+) or have at least 6 months experience in a cybersecurity role. You are a team player, effective communicator, and problem solver.
We offer in-house and external training, including industry-recognized certifications. You will be mentored and gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity, threat detection, and incident response. Opportunities for travel, conferences, and staying updated with cybersecurity innovations are available but not mandatory.
Salary: £36,408 plus benefits including 25-30 days annual leave, performance recognition, season ticket loan, pension, cycle scheme, on-site facilities, and parental leave.
