Job Description:

Are you highly technical with experience in Data Protection, Data Privacy law, and regulatory compliance? We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Manager to join our AXA Health Data Protection team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll provide privacy compliance advice to AXA Health, primarily helping to identify and manage privacy risks arising from strategic change programs. You’ll also support the operation of the AXA UK privacy compliance framework, advising on breach management, individual rights responses, marketing queries, etc. Additionally, you will enhance underlying processes, including policy review/revision, process updates, communication, and training.

The ‘Change’ aspect of this role offers the opportunity to work with teams such as Pricing, Customer Services, Data Science, IT and Architecture, Change, Data Platform Engineering, Data Governance, Data Security, Risk and Compliance, Legal, Third Party Risk, as well as AXA Group and external third-party providers. Initiatives to support include Robotic Process Automation, Data Analytics and AI (including GenAI) use cases, company reorganizations, customer service transformations, claims transformation, digital transformation, and new product launches.

You will work at least 40% of your week away from home at our offices, with a transition to the majority of your working week from September 2025. What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing privacy advice to strategic change programs via DPIAs, papers/presentations, and participation in project meetings, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Designing, reviewing, and enhancing data privacy processes and supporting templates/documentation to help the Data Privacy Compliance Framework, such as breach management, individual rights, and DPIAs.
  • Designing bespoke DP risk processes/templates tailored to initiatives/teams’ circumstances and requirements.
  • Keeping all documentation up-to-date, clear, and accessible to facilitate cross-team collaboration.
  • Demonstrating strong organization and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proposing solutions to process inefficiencies and working with AXA UK Data Protection teams and other teams to implement changes with wider impacts.
  • Participating in discussions with the AXA UK Data Protection team, providing insights on technical questions based on extensive knowledge of DP law and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviewing Data Protection clauses with third-party providers and corporate clients as needed.

What you’ll bring:

  • Data Protection experience in a large commercial group; experience in Health insurance is preferred. Ability to achieve consensus with stakeholders on the best approach to regulatory compliance.
  • Deep technical understanding of Data Privacy law and regulatory requirements, including those related to AI.
  • Good understanding of the Health Insurance business and the challenges with health data.
  • Experience working with healthcare providers and knowledge of their data governance and consent requirements is helpful but not essential.
  • Experience establishing and enhancing Data Privacy compliance frameworks, policies, and processes.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to integrate business and Data Protection strategies.
  • Familiarity with new technology platforms and solutions, including third-party arrangements.
