We are recruiting an Operations Manager to join our committed, collaborative and dynamic team.
As Operations Manager, you will help us to maintain tight and well-designed financial and risk management controls across the organisation. You will also provide efficient and effective management of strategically important projects. You will have an excellent opportunity to develop experience across a variety of areas, in the context of a challenging and interesting strategic environment.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Chair and other members of the senior leadership team, you will help IPSO deliver on high-profile organisational priorities.

Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have exceptional stakeholder management skills, the ability and desire to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organisation, and a strategic mindset that thrives on innovation and flexibility. Confident communication and interpersonal skills are essential, combined with personal integrity and an ability to maintain confidentiality.
On the technical side, confidence in engaging with financial information and experience of handling budgets, although you do not need a formal financial qualification or to have done a role where finance was your primary responsibility. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, filtering, and pivot tables is essential, and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint or other presentation software will be an advantage.
Finally, although there is no need to have worked in journalism or regulation before, a genuine interest in IPSO’s purpose and aims is essential.

The role is full-time, and IPSO offers hybrid working to all staff. All staff work two core days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) in our Central London office; members of the senior management team work an additional day in the office. New staff may be asked to come in for more days while they familiarise themselves with the organisation.
