Job summary

Sheffield City Council is recruiting an experienced Business Analyst to join its newly established Enterprise Architecture team. The role offers the chance to shape how services, processes, information, applications and technology fit together across the Council.

You will work with Enterprise Architects to develop artefacts, model relationships and communicate architecture insights to support decision making and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Business Analyst in a large or complex organisation.
• Strong requirement gathering and management skills.
• Ability to translate current state into a practical future state.
• Excellent workshop and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Knowledge of public-sector governance, information governance, cyber security, accessibility and value for money.

Responsibilities

• Understand problems across Council and identify improvement opportunities.
• Gather and model business, user, information and technology requirements.
• Develop models showing how services, processes, information, applications and technology connect.
• Spot gaps, risks and opportunities to simplify or reuse what exists.
• Prepare information for architecture governance meetings.
• Keep enterprise architecture records accurate and useful.
• Explain findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
