The Role
Due to continued business growth, a new opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Officer to join the team on a permanent basis. This newly created role will work closely with the Management Accountant and Company Director, providing day-to-day support and playing a key role in the smooth running of their payroll operation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Start to finish monthly payroll routine for 105 employees, on Sage Payroll software
- Process new starters & leavers
- Updating salary changes & increments
- Checking and calculating overtime payments
- Adjustments for unpaid holidays or sickness
- Applying maternity / paternity data
- Distribution of electronic payslips
- Submission of RTI data to HMRC
- Checking with HMRC and updating tax codings where applicable
- Year End routine, including issuing P60s
- Technical support to answer payroll related questions from employees
- Support with pension scheme enquiries and hoc payments throughout the month.

Skills & AttributesWe're looking for someone who is:
- Organised, accurate and proactive in their approach
- Confident numerical and basic accounting skills
- Experienced in using accounting software and Excel
- A strong communicator with a team-oriented mindset
Previous experience in a similar payroll role is desirable, though not essential for the right candidate with a willingness to learn.

Salary & Benefits- Salary region £28,000
- 33 days holiday entitlement (inclusive of bank holidays), increasing with service to a max 38 days.
