A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Research Nurse/Clinical Trials Practitioner to manage clinical trials in oncology and haematology. This role involves patient education, data collection, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and research outcomes.
Job summary
The Research Nurse/Clinical Trials Practitioner is an autonomous specialist working within the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and management of a clinical research portfolio, including in-house, national, and international phase II and III clinical trials in oncology and haematology malignancies.
Responsibilities include educating patients and colleagues, coordinating patient care during trials, collecting and preparing biological samples, gathering trial data, and monitoring drug and treatment side effects. The post holder will develop specialized skills and knowledge related to clinical trials, therapies, and disease sites. They will also enable patients to make informed decisions about trial participation by providing advice and acting as their advocate.
The role is clinically based to support research in Proton Beam Therapy and Neuro-Oncology, with cross-cover for other tumour areas.
