About The Role

Atlas Workplace Services has an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Liverpool John Moores University.

As part of a static engineering team, you will support the delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), remedial, and Reactive Maintenance activities. You will need to complete a wide range of statutory and routine PPMs, as well as reactive & remedial tasks, in line with specific contract Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure consistent delivery of Atlas engineering standards and competencies.
  • Deliver PPM, Remedial, and reactive works, focusing on low-risk PPM activities and compliance tasks.
  • Maintain communication with the Customer and Atlas Team through feedback and updates.
  • Contribute to providing a quality service aiming for 100% Customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure value for money by checking resources and materials, and produce details for minor works for quoting.
  • Report performance to your Building Services Supervisor.
  • Ensure safe delivery of all works, including those of service partners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, schedulers, supervisors, and subcontractors to meet SLAs.
  • Build relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Keep the Maximo CAFM system updated via your tablet, ensuring all time is accounted for.
  • Take ownership of your work standards to deliver exceptional service.
  • Maintain campus facilities, including plant rooms, switch rooms, and equipment.
  • Be knowledgeable about all equipment on campus to assist as needed.
  • Act as the first point of contact for subcontractors and facilities managers.
  • Perform all reasonable requests from management.
  • Cover call-out responsibilities out-of-hours when rostered.
About You
Minimum Qualifications, Certifications, and Training
  • GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
  • City and Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant M&E, Building Services, or maintenance discipline
  • Legionella (L8) trained and competent
  • Accredited Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH Working Safely or equivalent
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar environment, particularly across multi-site and multi-discipline service delivery
  • At least 1 year's experience in a customer-facing role
  • Background in mobile engineering or property maintenance
  • Proficiency with modern office software and asset/work management systems like MAXIMO / CAFM on Android tablets
  • Strong skills in building services trades and versatility in maintenance activities
  • Experience in delivering L8 compliance maintenance
