Are you a results-oriented HR leader with an interest in shaping the future of talent management? We are looking for an exceptional Director of Human Resources to join our British Columbia region. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this pivotal role is responsible for driving innovative talent programs and managing core HR processes. You will lead a dynamic, high-performance team dedicated to aligning our talent practices with the firm's strategic objectives and values.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Craft and implement a forward-thinking talent strategy that aligns with our firm's national vision and regional aspirations.
  • Execute HR strategies that propel the firm's growth and uphold our commitment to excellence.
  • Utilize market insights and industry trends to proactively address regional talent needs.
  • Oversee daily operations of the HR team, emphasizing client service excellence, best practices, and operational efficiency.
  • Spearhead recruitment and onboarding processes to attract and retain top-tier talent.
  • Develop and implement sophisticated sourcing, interviewing, and selection strategies.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand staffing needs and provide expert guidance on firm policies and legal implications.
  • Lead the performance management process, conducting annual reviews for key client groups.
  • Manage annual compensation cycles and ensure effective administration of benefits programs.
  • Champion our firm's culture, mission, vision, and values.
  • Collaborate with the EDI team to integrate best practices for a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Conduct engagement surveys, stay and exit interviews, and develop initiatives to enhance job satisfaction.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and make informed recommendations for action.
  • Foster a motivating and collaborative environment for a high-performing HR team.
  • Create and manage the HR budget ensuring efficient use of resources.

Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, or Human Resources. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive HR / business experience, including 5 years in a management role.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services firm, preferred.
  • Proven experience in implementing strategic initiatives in a complex professional services environment on a regional scale.
  • Strong understanding of the legal profession and the unique challenges faced by law firms.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with executives, senior directors, employee resource groups, managing partners, partners, practice group leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate strategy into actionable plans.
  • Relevant certifications in talent development or organizational development are a plus.

Pay Range

160,000 to $180,000. Pay range to be commensurate with experience.
