Chief People Officer – High-Growth Hospitality Business

London (Hybrid)

Up to £175,000 + package

Sanderson King has been engaged by a new client, introduced to us via recommendation, to lead the appointment of a Chief People Officer (CPO) for a fast-growing hospitality business headquartered in London.

Following a period of strong performance and future-facing investment, the business is entering a new chapter of growth and transformation. The CPO will play a central role in shaping the people strategy, culture, and organisational design needed to support that scale.

We are looking for a senior people leader who has supported rapid growth in hospitality, multi-site retail, or consumer-facing businesses — someone who understands what it takes to scale both culture and capability at pace, and who can align people strategy to commercial outcomes.

About the Role:

The Chief People Officer will join the senior leadership team, working closely with the CEO and Board. This is a broad and influential role, responsible for delivering a people agenda that is fit for scale — from talent acquisition and learning & development, to organisational design and employee engagement.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring the business is able to attract, retain and develop outstanding talent, while also safeguarding a values-led culture and supporting performance across both head office and frontline teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a scalable, future-facing people strategy
  • Lead the People & Talent function across all areas of the business
  • Embed a strong and consistent company culture across multi-site operations
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and wellbeing initiatives
  • Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce planning for growth
  • Design and implement frameworks for performance, development, and progression
  • Provide leadership on organisational change, transformation, and internal communications
  • Act as a key adviser to the CEO and Board on people, culture and organisational health

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Must have experience as Chief People Officer or HR Director within a hospitality, multi-site retail, or consumer-led environment
  • A strong track record of leading people strategy through growth, change or investment cycles
  • An understanding of both the strategic and operational aspects of HR
  • Skilled in organisational development, leadership coaching, and team-building
  • A passion for nurturing culture, developing talent and delivering impact at scale
  • Experienced in working closely with C-suite executives, founders, and investors
