This post provides excellent experience in engaging individuals diagnosed with psychosis, delivering a specialist CBT intervention (Feeling Safer) under close supervision from a clinical psychologist, working within NHS services, and gaining insights into clinical trials methodology. The role is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing careers in clinical psychology or clinical research.
This is an exciting opportunity to deliver Feeling Safer to patients. A multi-centre randomized controlled trial will be conducted to test the Feeling Safer treatment on NHS patients diagnosed with psychosis and experiencing persecutory delusions. Patients will be randomized into four groups:
Participants, Feeling Safer deliverers, and other mental health staff will be interviewed to explore the therapy's application within the NHS.
Training in the Feeling Safer treatment will be provided. No prior therapy delivery experience is required.
Main duties include delivering this innovative treatment, working closely with the trial manager, site PI, and colleagues across sites to ensure proper training and competence. You will see participants, support them in implementing skills from the Feeling Safer package, attend clinical supervision, and assist in promoting the study to local teams.
