We are now recruiting for a talented Production Supervisor to join our team based at IPS Haverhill on a full-time and permanent position.
Shift: Monday-Friday 07:30am-4:00pm.
Salary: £35,000 per annum, rising to £36,000 after successful probation.
Job Description
To manage production lines and labour to meet planned volume and commercial targets in accordance with QA and safety standards. To be a role model for best practices at all times, and provide support to Line Leaders where appropriate.
Production Operations & Customer Service
- Provide leadership for the site production teams.
- Lead the implementation of the Operational Strategy.
- Ensure compliance with Company and Legal requirements of H&S and Quality.
- Liaise with other key departments regarding the production plan and ensure it is met.
- Plan and manage labour resourcing against the production plan to meet customer requirements.
- Communicate, own, target, and deliver production process efficiency targets (e.g., labour and waste).
- Attend customer review meetings when required.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Warehousing, Transport, etc.) to communicate production requirements effectively.
- Utilize available systems to drive continuous improvement in all areas of operations.
Health & Safety
- Conduct risk assessments.
- Participate in health and safety meetings, providing feedback as necessary.
Management Responsibilities
- Liaise with agency controllers and provide feedback regarding agency staff to both the agency and HR.
- Perform other duties within the scope and grade of the post as required.
Colleague Management
- Conduct disciplinary and grievance hearings following company procedures, with guidance from HR.
- Participate in performance reviews, including setting KPIs for controllers and team/line leaders.
- Assist HR and Training managers in developing training and development plans for staff and new hires.
- Coach, support, and mentor colleagues to foster an empowering culture.
Qualifications
- Experience in a production environment (preferably food or packing).
- Experience in warehousing operations.
- Experience with customer, BRC, and ISO audits.
- Experience working with packaging machinery.
