Here, you find purpose, passion, and potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently — we make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

About your team:

At Centrica Energy Storage +, our mission is to store it.

Our onshore and offshore teams aim to boost UK energy security and reduce bills. Our North Sea facility, Rough, supplies half of the UK’s gas storage, enough to heat 2.4 million homes over winter. We’re transforming it into the world's largest hydrogen storage and creating a Net Zero energy hub in the Humber.

Centrica Energy Storage+ (CES+) operates large-scale natural gas storage and production facilities in East Yorkshire, including Easington and an offshore platform. CES+ has ambitions for energy transition, aiming to create an integrated energy hub supporting UK energy security and transition commitments. It’s an exciting time to join us.

Role overview:

The Process Engineer will support the Process Engineering Technical Authority in delivering activities for CES+ assets by providing technical support to projects, operations, maintenance, and compliance activities within the discipline.

Location:

Hessle, Hull

Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage and complete assigned technical work to meet assurance requirements.
  • Provide Process Engineering support to assets, involving regular travel to onshore and offshore sites.
  • Support risk assessments to ensure technical process input.
  • Assist with modifications and Management of Change requests.
  • Guide operational, technical, and project teams with process engineering input.
  • Lead process engineering phases in Functional Safety workstreams (HAZOPs, SIL assessments, LOPAs).
  • Contribute to Process/Technical Safety workstreams.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
Experience & Skills:
  • Knowledge of Process and MAH practices and legislation, ideally in Oil & Gas or related industries.
  • Understanding of engineering documentation and relevant codes and standards.
  • Experience in Process/Technical Safety Engineering is desirable.
Education & Certifications:
  • Relevant Chemical/Process Engineering degree.
  • Working towards or achieved Chartered Engineer status.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary and bonus.
  • Employee Energy Allowance at 15% of the government price cap.
  • Company-funded Healthcare.
  • 25 days holiday plus options to buy extra days.
  • Flexible benefits like vouchers, electric car schemes, and travel insurance.
