About The Role

Electrical Engineer

Permanent, Full time

Hybrid, Inchinnan, Glasgow

About The Company

JFD Global is the world leading underwater capability provider, serving the commercial and defence markets with innovative diving, submarine and hyperbaric rescue, technical solutions, and services.

The Role

To provide engineering design solutions and through-life engineering support to the JFD product range. Workload can vary from new product design to meet client or internal specifications to supporting existing client requests for upgrades or changes in the field. This role is based at our Inchinnan office on a hybrid basis.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Provide engineering design input to new products and support the existing product range by assessing technical queries and providing solutions.
2. Liaise with internal departments such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure optimal technical solutions.
3. Sourcing components and materials, creating part numbers, and bill of materials.
4. Create engineering documentation including specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certifications, and reports.
5. Check detailed electrical drawings and documentation, ensuring compliance with engineering and company standards and regulations.
6. Ensure engineering solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
7. Conduct site visits to other offices and client assets as needed.
8. Act as technical checker of drawings and documentation supporting the electrical engineer role.

Qualifications And Experience

• Proven electrical and electronics design skills.
• Skilled in generating design calculations.
• Proficient with engineering design software and CAD packages.
• Knowledge of design standards.
• Previous product design experience, especially with DC systems, is advantageous.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management systems.
• Electrical and Electronics engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience working to marine, defence standards, and class society rules (mainly LR and DNV).
• Panel design experience.
