The successful candidate will:
  • Be experienced working with residents living with dementia
  • Have a genuine interest in residents
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Work effectively as part of the Activities Team
  • Motivate people to participate
  • Have good organisational skills
  • Manage time effectively and plan ahead
  • Build residents' self-esteem
  • Stay informed about new activities
Role and responsibilities (not exhaustive):
  • Assist in organising and coordinating tailored activities for individuals and groups, including themed events based on holidays and traditions
  • Book external entertainers and suppliers
  • Organise community trips, considering transport and accessibility
  • Contribute to planning a stimulating activity programme to enhance residents' quality of life
  • Maintain records of resident participation and review needs regularly
  • Maintain a portfolio of activities available within the Home and the community
  • Participate in fundraising events as needed
General duties:
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Complete mandatory and developmental training
  • Communicate effectively with staff, relatives, visitors, and professional agencies
  • Promote safe working practices within the Home
