Job Role: Site Total Facilities Manager

Location:

HMP Chelmsford – 200 Springfield Rd, Springfield, Chelmsford, CM2 6LQ

Salary:

£57,790.45

Contract:

Full-time / Permanent

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Site Total Facilities Manager to join our team at HMP Chelmsford, a Category B & Adult/Male prison. You will work alongside experienced colleagues in a supportive environment committed to safety and security.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage facilities operations ensuring safety and compliance.
  2. Oversee maintenance teams including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators.
  3. Manage budgets and staff effectively.
  4. Ensure health & safety standards are met.
  5. Contribute to the safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff, and visitors.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Experience in facilities management, managing budgets, and staff.
  • Desirable: experience in a prison or military environment.
  • Recognised apprenticeship in a facilities/building services trade or two years of relevant experience.
  • IOSH qualification (desirable).
  • Good health & safety knowledge.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
