Job Description:

Purpose of the job

To provide financial management accounting services to the Managing Director of ‘Projects, Engineering & Decommissioning’ (PE&D) and their management team, aiming to optimise financial performance.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting regulations, policies, and Nuvia procedures.
  • Provide project accounting for PE&D projects, collaborating with Operations and Project Management.
  • Offer management accounting services to business resource centres.
  • Work collaboratively with other finance staff across the company.
  • Support and guide the Project Accountant Support team.

Reports to

Finance Business Partner of Projects, Engineering & Decommissioning

Key accountabilities
  • Maintain data integrity, including project work orders, budgets, and project relations.
  • Monitor data accuracy and clear suspense accounts.
  • Review purchase accruals and cost of sales, ensuring accurate assessments each period.
  • Support project managers with sales invoicing, produce invoice support schedules, and assist with debtor payments.
  • Support financial management of projects, particularly major ones.
  • Provide financial advice and ensure adherence to company policies.

Ensure data integrity by:

  • Promptly opening/closing projects in accordance with contracts.
  • Maintaining project budgets and contract values in the system.
  • Conducting periodic cost reconciliations and processing journals.
  • Managing Capital Expenditure, ensuring costs are capitalised appropriately.
  • Maintaining business recharges and cost allocations.
