Cheshire East Council is seeking a Science Laboratory Technician for a job share position, providing essential support to the Science faculty. The role involves preparing experiments, managing equipment, and assisting in the classroom during term time. Candidates with a science qualification are preferred. Working hours are flexible between 8am and 4pm, ideally Monday to Wednesday.

SCIENCE LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Job Share - Permanent

22 hours per week, 38 weeks (term time only)

Hours: between 8am and 4pm (negotiable), preferably Monday to Wednesday

Grade 4; SCP 05 - 06: £12,392 - £12,873 per annum (actual salary)

Job Description

To provide a practical day-to-day technician service for the Science faculty, including:

1. Preparing experiments, setting up apparatus and equipment for demonstrations and practical lessons as requested by teaching staff
2. Liaising with staff over use of equipment and stock
3. Tidying away experiments and cleaning equipment
4. Mixing chemical solutions and assisting within the classroom as necessary

A qualification in science is an advantage.
