Weekly Hours: 37.5 Hours / Week

Title: Recreation Summer Counselor

Location: Floral Street School

Bargaining Unit: Non-Union

Hiring Range: $15.30 - $16.00 per hour

Department & Supervisor: Recreation, Recreation Coordinator - Programs

Summary

What You’ll Do

  • Lead fun activities like sports, arts & crafts, swimming, hiking, and team challenges.
  • Inspire, mentor, and encourage campers to make friends, try new things, and build confidence.
  • Keep safety a top priority while ensuring every camper is engaged and having a great time.
  • Be a role model—demonstrate teamwork, respect, and enthusiasm every single day!
  • Help resolve conflicts and provide support to campers with patience and positivity.
  • Working alongside an awesome team to create a summer experience campers will never forget!

What We’re Looking For

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Passion for working with kids and making summer amazing!
  • Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be active outdoors in all kinds of weather.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • A positive, adaptable, and teamwork-driven attitude.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with arts, drama, music, or sports.
  • Outdoor adventure skills.
  • Previous experience in a camp, recreation, or educational setting.
