Microsoft Data Solutions Support Analyst

Role Overview

As part of our Managed Services expansion, Simpson Associates seeks a Microsoft Data Solutions Support Analyst. You will be the primary contact for supported customers, providing support, shaping solutions, and building operational partnerships. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, a subject matter expert, quick to learn supported applications, and committed to excellent customer service. Staying current with technology developments and obtaining relevant certifications is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support all supported customers across various technologies, ensuring high customer service standards.
  • Manage relationships with key customers, supporting and expanding partnerships.
  • Handle support calls involving complex solutions, applying a methodical approach to resolution.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of supported applications.
  • Proactively manage support contracts, monitor environments, and identify potential issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive customer documentation for efficient ticket handling.
  • Communicate product updates and proactive maintenance to add customer value.
  • Follow support procedures, track support contracts, and generate reports.
  • Coordinate with the consulting team for smooth project handovers.
Skills and Attributes
  • Experience with Microsoft Data Analytics solutions on-premise and in the cloud.
  • Knowledge of core technologies: T-SQL, Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Power BI, SQL Server BI suite.
  • Understanding of Azure's core services.
  • Ability to absorb complex information and apply it effectively.
  • Positive attitude, team player, and excellent communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, preferably in an ITIL environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional skills: Databricks, Python, .NET Framework.
  • Experience with IBM Cognos, Planning Analytics, Azure Fundamentals, Data Fundamentals, Data Engineer certifications.
  • Project management certifications like Prince 2 Agile are a plus.

Successful candidates will need to pass enhanced Security Clearance checks.
