Job summary

A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Deputy Charge Nurse for a new secure adolescent inpatient service at Foxgrove, Ayrshire Central Hospital. The role requires a registered mental health or learning disability nurse with relevant experience in CAMHS or Forensic Mental Health. You will work closely with the clinical team to develop the service's clinical model and contribute to its successful launch in 2025.

Qualifications

Job Opportunity: Deputy Charge Nurse at Foxgrove, Ayrshire Central Hospital

NHS Ayrshire and Arran is seeking motivated nurses for a new secure adolescent inpatient service. We are looking for registered mental health nurses (RMN) and registered learning disability nurses (RLDN) with relevant experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) and/or Forensic Mental Health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work alongside the Service Manager and clinical team to develop pathways and processes.
• Participate in the recruitment of junior staff.
• Help establish the culture and ethos of the new service prior to its opening in 2025.

Based at Foxgrove National Secure Adolescent Inpatient Service within Ayrshire Central Hospital, you will contribute to the finalization of the service's clinical model and infrastructure.

Minimum Requirements:

• First Level Registered Nurse (RMN Part 3) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse.
• Relevant experience at Band 5 or above in CAMHS or Forensics.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development, preferably at degree level.
• Knowledge of CAMHS and/or Forensic issues and management considerations.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of mental health legislation.
