Position Overview

We are seeking experienced nurses to join our Band 6 Deputy Charge Nurse team within the Emergency Department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. This role involves assessing care needs, evaluating care plans, and ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care. As a Deputy Charge Nurse, you will manage the department in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse, including staff supervision and deployment. You will also be responsible for maintaining clinical and staff governance, providing leadership, and supporting staff development.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Significant post-qualification experience in emergency nursing or a relevant specialty
  • Advanced clinical expertise
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Willingness to participate in research and audit projects
Details
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, rotational shifts including days and nights (12.5-hour shifts)
  • Must hold a PVG Scheme membership/record or apply for one prior to employment
