Bring your skills to the mix as an Associate Director in River Engineering. You'll play a vital role in river engineering and flood defence on transformational programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities to work on iconic projects at home and abroad.

We specialise in all aspects of river engineering across sectors such as Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy, and Cities & Development. We provide industry-leading solutions throughout the project lifecycle, supporting clients during design, construction, and beyond. Opportunities are available in our Epsom, Peterborough, Bristol, Exeter, Swansea, Birmingham, and Manchester offices.

Your Purpose:

  • Own and lead teams undertaking technical design work following relevant standards and high-quality levels.
  • Define briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals.
  • Manage time and budgets effectively to meet project milestones.
  • Collaborate with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Set quality assurance standards in design.
  • Develop and manage engineering capabilities within the practice.

What you can bring:

  • Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing design delivery, including multidisciplinary projects.
  • Knowledge in flood walls, embankments, weirs, hydraulic structures, culverts, scour protection, access, and construction logistics.
  • Familiarity with UK design standards and practices.
  • Ability to deliver both traditional and environmentally-focused, nature-based solutions.
