We also work with other organisations andlandownersto protect and connect wildlife sitesacross the county and inspire local communities and young people to care for wildlife where they live.

Our history

North Wales Naturalist's Trust was formed on October 26th 1963. Over 60 years later our name may have changed, but the motivation that inspired our founders remains the same. Over the years the number of reserves cared for by the Trust has grown steadily, now covering over 750 hectares, thanks to gifts of land and site purchases through fundraising. We now employ over 50 members of staff and manage a budget of over £3M - a far cry from our humble beginnings.

Meet our people

Our wildlife conservation work is only possible through a collaborative effort between our trustees, volunteers and staff. We are motivated by our collective belief that a North Wales rich in wildlife and valued by all, is good for both wildlife and people.

How we're funded

North Wales Wildlife Trust is a charity, and as such we rely on the support of membership subscriptions, donations, grants, legacies and other funding sources to allow us to carry out our work caring for wildlife in North Wales.

Who you are

You will be from a grant funding background within private, public or charitable sector. You will have an understanding of nature conservation grounded by strong grant writing experience. We would expect an understanding of how grant funding works and the application process and that you are comfortable with working to strict deadlines. You will be a great communicator, with a personable style who can work with many different people across the wonderful variety of geography, business development, and activities of the Wildlife Trust.

You enjoy exploring new opportunities and problem solving. This is a new role which will evolve following your appointment so you should be excited by the flexibility and opportunities to take an innovative approach.

We value passion, respect, trust, integrity, pragmatic activism and strength in diversity. Whilst we are passionate in promoting our aims, we are not judgemental and are inclusive.
