Job description

Job Title: Senior Accountant / Client Manager

An experienced Senior Accountant / Client Manager is required to join a forward-thinking, Chartered Accountancy Practice based in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. This is a client-facing accounting role where you will manage your own portfolio of clients with support from a Semi-Senior Accountant, working closely together. The client portfolio includes sole traders and high-net-worth organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review bookkeeping, management accounts, annual accounts, and tax returns. Prepare account reports upon job completion.
2. Coordinate with clients to agree on timelines for providing information needed for accounts and tax returns.
3. Plan workload for the accounts team using the team planner.
4. Coordinate with the Office Manager regarding workflow, deadlines, and billing.
5. Agree on fees with clients prior to commencing work, where applicable.
6. Prepare larger jobs from SAGE and manual records, posting to IRIS, including business tax computations.
7. Serve as the main point of contact for clients within your portfolio.
8. Prepare IRIS accounting records for new clients using opening trial balances and previous tax computations.
9. Prepare personal tax computations and self-assessment returns.
10. Prepare statutory accounts using the IRIS system, ensuring all disclosures are correctly included.
11. Prepare management accounts and liaise with clients.
12. Provide excellent service to clients, consistently meeting their expectations.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 5 years of practice experience.
• Client-facing experience.
• Experience reviewing accounts as an Accounts Senior.
• ACA or ACCA qualified, or with remaining papers to complete.
• Team player with a passion for client growth.
• Experience converting prospective clients and promoting services.
• Ability to review compliance work, handle sign-offs, filings, and queries independently.

Additional Details:

• Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 depending on skills and experience.
