As an Automation Maintenance Engineer, you'll be the backbone of our operations, ensuring critical automation systems run at peak performance 24/7. This role involves more than maintenance — it's about being the technical expert who keeps the nation's deliveries flowing seamlessly.

• Ensure the smooth operation of parcel sortation equipment

What You'll Do

• Perform maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on automated machinery
• Engage in continuous improvement activities on automated equipment
• Provide effective support to the Engineering and Maintenance Teams, complete end-of-shift reports, fault logs, and data entries
• Identify root causes of automation breakdowns and prioritize corrective actions to meet operational needs
• Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with operational stakeholders to improve automation outputs
• Work on Continuous Improvement projects, from conception to implementation, for machinery in the distribution facility
• Work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals
• Work rotating shifts across days and nights

Technical Excellence

• Oversee automated systems including ASRS and AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robotics) technology
• Implement maintenance strategies to maximize operational efficiency
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime

What You'll Bring

Essential Experience

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualifications (minimum Engineering/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Hands-on experience maintaining automation equipment
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
• Adaptability and confidence to work independently and in teams

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of automation systems
• Experience in automated maintenance
