Job Summary

The Repair Determination Inspector is responsible for conducting detailed inspections to determine the extent of damage or defects on aircraft components. The inspector uses specialized knowledge and experience to assess reparability, repair options, and costs.

Job Responsibilities

Inspectors perform preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, and final inspections on civil aviation articles according to current technical data, including manufacturer’s instructions for continued airworthiness, Service Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, industry standards, and other data acceptable to the Administrator. Responsibilities include:

1. Ensuring familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment within their responsibility area.
2. Maintaining proficiency in using inspection aids.
3. Ensuring inspection tools and equipment are in proper working order and calibrated.
4. Understanding specifications involving inspection tolerances, limitations, and procedures.
5. Performing and recording inspections properly, ensuring all records are accurately maintained.
6. Performing other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• Professional qualification (Diploma or Certificate) in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical).
• At least 2 years of experience in inspection processes.
• Knowledge of C7 rating and ATA 72.
