About the Role:

Dow Jones is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Product Director of SEO to lead the development and execution of our SEO roadmap. In this senior role, you will oversee the optimization and evolution of our SEO strategy, ensuring we continuously grow organic traffic, improve rankings, and expand our acquisition funnel. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including newsrooms, marketing, engineering, and analytics to drive innovative SEO solutions and impact.

As a leader in the engineering team, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming and ideation to production launch and ongoing development. You will work closely with an engineering organization to ensure initiatives launch within scope, on time, with measurable impact.

You Will:

  1. Develop and execute a long-term SEO product strategy aligned with business objectives across multiple properties.
  2. Stay ahead of industry trends, algorithm changes, and SEO best practices to ensure strategies are future-proof.
  3. Partner with Engineering, Design, Editorial, and Marketing teams to implement SEO strategies that optimize site architecture, content, and search visibility.
  4. Act as the product owner for all SEO-related tools and features, managing the product lifecycle from ideation to launch.
  5. Facilitate open communication and alignment between departments for a cohesive SEO roadmap.
  6. Leverage analytics, performance metrics, and A/B testing to refine strategies and prioritize initiatives.
  7. Define and track key SEO metrics (traffic, rankings, conversions) and present performance reports to leadership.
  8. Use competitive analysis and market research to identify opportunities and gaps in SEO performance.
  9. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and proactive problem-solving within the team.
  10. Own the product vision and roadmap for SEO features, tools, and platforms.
  11. Work with engineering to ensure SEO considerations are integrated into architecture and systems.
  12. Prioritize and manage a backlog of SEO enhancements for timely delivery.

You Have:

  1. 7+ years of SEO experience, including 3+ years in leadership managing teams and strategy.
  2. Proven experience in product management or ownership within SEO or digital marketing.
  3. Deep understanding of SEO best practices, search algorithms, and technical SEO elements.
  4. Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making ability.
  5. Experience with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, etc.
  6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional work.
  7. Experience managing large-scale SEO efforts in complex digital ecosystems (e-commerce, SaaS, etc.).
  8. Familiarity with web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  9. Proven success in driving SEO growth for large websites or platforms.
  10. Experience with Agile methodologies and fast-paced environments.
  11. Media industry experience is a plus.
