Hillmorton High School Canterbury
Hillmorton High School is a diverse urban coeducational school situated in the South-West of Christchurch. The school is a fast growing Y7–13 school with dedicated middle and senior schools. We have a roll of around 1400 and with further building works underway, the roll is expected to increase in the next few years. We provide students with a caring and supportive environment, to help them achieve academic excellence, leadership skills and a love of learning.
Commencing term 3, 2025, we require a mathematics teacher to join our team. Persistence in supporting all ākonga to flourish in their mathematical learning journeys, along with a belief that everyone can achieve at the highest levels is crucial. We’re looking for a kaiako dedicated to helping ākonga master and enjoy mathematics. The ability to teach Level 3 calculus and statistics is beneficial.
For the appropriate candidate, theVoluntary Bonding Scheme (Expansion Scheme) may be applicable which allows you to apply for a one-off payment worth up to $10'500 within 6 months after completing your third consecutive year of teaching.
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the understanding and ability to teach using culturally responsive and relational pedagogy is essential.
The successful applicant must be a NZ registered teacher and be willing to commit to our co-curricular programme also.
