Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for Linux Administration to be part of leading-edge technology projects. Cognizant’s Cloud, Infrastructure & Security Services Practice provides end-to-end solutions covering architecture, design, implementation, management, and on-going support across the entire enterprise technology infrastructure. Our services include a spectrum of management, consulting, and systems integration services to help our clients maximize value in their infrastructure resources, while optimizing infrastructure performance and cost.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for running and maintain on-premises data centres.
• To Ensure high availability, performance, and security of data centre infrastructure.
• Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and remediation strategies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors for upgrades and patch management.
• Document configurations, procedures, and system changes for audit and knowledge sharing purposes.

Required Skills

• Should have experience running and maintaining on-premises data centres
• Should have experience with Linux (Ubuntu / Centos)
• Should have experience enterprise storage including ISCSI and SAN technology
• Prior experience using automation tools (Ansible, Foreman etc)
• Knowledge of IP networking, DNS, and firewalling
• Experience with Python, shell scripts and command-line tools
• Knowledge of containerisation and related orchestration technologies
• Demonstrable experience of remediation projects, ideally within a PCI-DSS certified environment.
• Able & productive with ITSM tools such as Jira, ServiceNow etc.

Great to haves:

• Good knowledge of the various services and capabilities of cloud computing platforms; Ideally AWS
• Hyper-V, Microsoft AD, AAD & VMWare experience
• Experience maintaining OpenStack
• Experience maintaining build system, source code management, TeamCity and GitLab services
