Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Bank Staff as an Experienced Health Care Assistant at Frimley NHS Health Foundation Trust (FHFT). You will work flexibly across our clinical directorates in both Frimley and Wexham Park Hospitals, currently in the UK in a Healthcare setting.

We are seeking compassionate, caring healthcare workers committed to delivering high-quality care. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in patients' lives at FHFT.

Please note: This is a front-facing clinical role requiring a high level of spoken and written English. Do not use AI software for your application.

You must currently be in the UK with recent UK Healthcare experience as an HCA.

Main duties of the job

As a Health Care Assistant, you will work under supervision of a registered nurse or Nursing Associate, assisting with patient care and supporting departmental operations. You will always support your clinical colleagues and act in the best interest of patients, ensuring respectful and dignified treatment while delivering clinical care. Excellent customer care skills are essential.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

Expected clinical roles for a B3 HCA at FHFT include:

  • Collecting samples, recording vital signs, changing stomas and drainage bags, catheter care, and recording patient observations.
  • Performing NEWS2 scoring and alerting nurses to patient condition changes.
  • Caring for patients requiring enhanced or bay-based observation.
  • Supporting care plans and assisting with patient nutrition and hygiene.
  • Helping mobilize patients safely with appropriate equipment.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Evidence of general education (e.g., GCSEs or equivalent, Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy).
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification or apprenticeship in healthcare or equivalent.
  • Care Certificate.
Experience
  • Previous healthcare assistant experience in a hospital or care setting.
  • Experience in taking clinical observations.
  • Customer care experience.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Knowledge of care procedures relevant to the area.
  • Understanding of unregistered worker roles.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Moderate IT skills.
