Job description

Location: Bristol, Nottingham, Swansea

Salary: A GBP 67,313 - GBP 74,406 per annum (In addition to the base salary, a Recruitment and Retention Allowance (RRA) of GBP 4,000 per annum is available for holders of Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS))

The Role

They seek an experienced commercial practitioner to join the DVSA commercial leadership team. This senior role manages third-party delivery, supporting over 4,000 staff with a contract portfolio worth GBP 1,007 million.

The role aims to enable effective, value-for-money delivery of DVSA's arrangements with third parties, optimizing commercial partnering and third-party supplier opportunities.

The commercial team operates in a category management model supporting strategic objectives through the end-to-end commercial cycle: pre-procurement, procurement, and contract management support.

This Role Will Lead the Following Commercial Categories:

  • Digital and Technology Services
  • Theory Test Services

These categories involve procuring digital resources, IT infrastructure, software, hardware, digital managed services, and Theory Test services.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent.
  • Significant experience leading a commercial team in a senior role.
  • Ability to work creatively in a dynamic commercial environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of the commercial cycle.
  • Deep commercial knowledge to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Experience with public sector procurement.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills.
