Who Are Forest Holidays?

We’re a Certified B Corp. Our business has been recognised as a force for good. It's what we’ve always known: our holidays are good for people and the planet. We’ve never done business as usual. Our holidays are unique, and so are we. We’re a team of 800 people. We’re stewards of 244.5 hectares of forest. We manage the land for conservation and create spaces in nature for people to stay. Our tucked-away cabin locations are always thoughtfully placed. They’re places to discover the wonders of nature and realise the part we all play in protecting it.

About the General Manager role:

As General Manager, you will oversee operational excellence across all areas of the location, including the Forest Retreat (our retail, food & beverage hub), site operations, and administration. You will ensure every guest enjoys a unique and memorable holiday experience, upholding our brand standards and delivering the Forest Feeling

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a large operational team to deliver outstanding service.
  • Oversee all aspects of guest experience, operations, and administration at the location.
  • Manage budgets and drive revenue growth while maintaining exceptional standards.
  • Ensure a strong health & safety culture is embedded across the team.
  • Motivate and develop your team through training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across the site.
  • Proactively manage guest feedback to enhance the customer experience.

Skills & Experience:

Our ideal General Manager will be a dynamic leader who can drive the growth and success of their location. You should bring energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Senior management experience, ideally overseeing large operational teams.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and leadership skills.
  • Proven budget management experience, including managing P&L.
  • Previous experience in a similar outdoor working environment is desirable.
  • A commitment to sustainability and responsible tourism.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving business success.
  • Due to investment into the location, project management and delivery experience is required

Self-motivated and ready to lead the team, you will be key in delivering business results and will make a valued contribution as you help our dynamic and growing business become the UK’s most recommended holiday provider. With experience in team leadership and achieving outstanding results, you’ll ensure every guest experience is consistent and extraordinary. Promoting a collaborative culture, you will bring your experience of leading a team and through training produce the highest standards.

As our General Manager we can offer you:

As a valued member of our team, you’ll enjoy a range of fantastic benefits, including:

  • Live-in Accommodation - Including all utilities, available for a nominal monthly rent, resulting in approximately £10,000 annual savings.
  • Generous holiday allowance - Take the time you need to recharge and enjoy a healthy work-life balance.

  • Social events and awards evenings – Celebrate success with your team.
  • Pension scheme – Secure your future with our company pension.
  • One full paid day to volunteer – Give back to a cause you care about.
  • Subsidised meals – Discounted food when working on location.
  • Wellbeing events & activities – Focus on your mental and physical wellness.
  • Save on cabin breaks – Enjoy up to 20% off pre-booked stays or last-minute breaks for just £75 per cabin. Friends and family also receive 15% off.
