Job description

An independent day nursery located in a quiet residential street in Pinner, Middlesex, is seeking a dynamic, supernumerary Deputy Nursery Manager to join its expanding team. The nursery has a capacity of approximately 100 children, ranging from babies to five years old, and achieved a "GOOD" rating from its most recent OFSTED inspection in 2022.

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Promoting high standards of quality within the nursery and the environment.
  2. Ensuring that resources and experiences offered to children align with the company's ethos and approach to Early Years Education.
  3. Ensuring practice and provision meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
  4. Maintaining children's safety and ensuring staff understand and follow safeguarding procedures.
  5. Assisting with the effective day-to-day management of the nursery.
  6. Maintaining effective communication with children, staff, parents, and carers.
  7. Developing positive working relationships with staff.
  8. Ensuring compliance with staffing qualifications, including First Aid certifications.
Candidate Requirements:
  1. Previous experience in a similar role or as an experienced Room Leader aiming to step up.
  2. Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  3. Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  4. Strong understanding of OFSTED standards.
  5. Comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS curriculum.
  6. Good time management skills.
  7. Excellent communication skills.
  8. Strong people management skills.
