Senior Analyst Consultant - Defence

Location: Winchester, Hants, Hybrid role

Salary: £40K-£75K plus bonus and benefits

Our client is looking for a positive, flexible self-starter to join their team as a Senior Analyst. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in delivering analysis capability as an integral part of a small, agile, and growing business.

Our client’s team of analysts, consultants, and Defence SMEs work closely with their customers to deliver high-impact services and solutions. Data science and operational analysis are key parts of their company’s capability. They are expanding this capability and are looking for a highly motivated and capable Senior Analyst.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Using operational analysis approaches to deliver impactful insights to clients.
2. Taking a consultative approach to understanding how your work contributes to delivering excellent results for clients.
3. Developing models and tools using agile methodologies, including requirements capture, design, development, testing, and management.
4. Managing, structuring, analyzing, presenting, and visualizing data.
5. Deriving insights from data to inform senior-level decision-making.
6. Producing presentations and reports to summarize processes, findings, recommendations, and decision analysis results.
7. Delivering high-quality analysis and outputs.
8. Leading the day-to-day delivery of projects, working closely with clients and the team of consultants and analysts.
9. This role involves a blend of working from the office and travel to client sites.

The company's main clients are based around key UK Defence establishments in southern England.

Experience and Qualifications:

1. Operational analysis approaches and techniques.
2. Advanced Excel skills, including VBA.
3. Data analysis and data science.
4. Experience working within the UK MoD.
5. Stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, and process design.
6. Self-starter attitude and team player.
7. Good communication skills to work confidently with team members and clients.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
9. Attention to detail and drive to complete work thoroughly.
10. Positive and flexible approach to work.
11. Degree, MSc, or equivalent experience.

Desirable Skills:

• Decision-making techniques and processes.
• Operating models and organizational design.
• Software development using Python.
• Knowledge of current software development platforms and best practices.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, Dataverse, and PowerApps.
• Recent UK Defence Security Clearance (SC) is advantageous but not essential.

Additional Information:

Ideally, candidates will have current UK SC or DV Clearance.
