Knowledge, skills and experience required

Ideally you will have the following skills and experience:

  • At least five years of post-qualification experience in administering Trusts
  • A basic understanding of Personal Tax Returns
  • Inheritance tax, capital gains tax and CGT 60-day knowledge
  • Ideally you will be STEP qualified, but not essential
  • Experience of preparing trust accounts and tax returns.
  • Experience of dealing with professional intermediaries, trustees and beneficiaries
  • Clear understanding of the compliance requirements for trusts
  • Experience of liaising with HMRC as required, on behalf of trustees and beneficiaries
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complicated legal processes in a clear way to your clients
  • Strong relationship building experience in order to build and maintain relationships with trustees and beneficiaries
  • Experience of training, development and mentoring of junior team members
  • Willingness to attend business development activities on behalf of the team and the firm
