Job summary
An opportunity has arisen to join the critical care audit team within the critical care facilities in the Bart's Heart Centre. The Critical Care Audit Team forms part of a larger Cardiac Audit Programme within the organisation.
A Critical Care Audit Nurse will be expected to work constructively within the audit team in order to collect, collate and evaluate data relating to patients from their hospital admission to their status following hospital discharge. You will be expected to assist in the delivery of the audit programme and ensure that the data quality meets national standards and regulations. As part of the Critical Care Audit team, you will be performing data analysis, monitoring performance indicators and supporting further service developments.
The successful candidate will be supported in developing an understanding of clinical audit, clinical effectiveness and governance. Full training is provided but it is expected the successful candidate will have knowledge of critical care audit with a clinical background in critical care.
This is a part-time position. The Audit Team work Monday to Friday daytime (no bank holidays) and there are opportunities to adjust the work pattern once a member of the team has proven they can work independently. If you like the sound of this exciting opportunity, we would like to hear from you.
Main duties of the jobTo collect, collate and evaluate data pertaining to patients who receive critical care, from their admission to hospital to their status following hospital discharge. This data will be validated, analysed, prepared and presented according to deadlines and appropriate standards to various third parties. The role will contribute to improve patient care by supporting the clinical audit process, measuring the achievement of quality targets and participating in audit/research projects. The role will contribute to good hospital administration by providing a resource to be used in order to claim payment for services, providing on-going operational data to help managerial decisions and providing information used for strategic planning.
