About the role

Lloyd & Whyte, proudly part of Benefact Group, is seeking a Client Director to join our Direct Corporate Risks team.

We are looking for an experienced and talented Client Director to manage an existing book of business and to identify, attract, and retain new clients within our core target industries, primarily in the Waste, Construction, or Haulage and Logistics sectors. Experience and proven success in these sectors are preferred but not essential.

You will deliver an exceptional service experience to our clients, emphasizing expertise and excellence in providing market-leading products.

Key responsibilities
  1. Provide comprehensive Commercial insurance services to existing and potential clients.
  2. Develop technical and industry expertise within our target sectors and utilize this knowledge to craft tailored product propositions.
  3. Offer market-leading risk management services, especially concerning motor fleet risks.
  4. Collaborate with your direct report to prepare and agree on monthly and annual sales forecasts, targets, plans, and budgets.
  5. Achieve sales forecasts and plans, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to the Sales Director.
  6. Generate leads via LinkedIn, cold calling, partnerships, and other channels, supplemented by business-provided leads.
  7. Work closely with account handling and claims teams to ensure high levels of service and excellence.
  8. Identify, recommend, and implement corrective actions when performance deviates from plans or issues arise.
  9. Promote a professional, expert, and excellent internal and external brand.
  10. Support marketing efforts through content provision, industry event participation, and other activities as needed.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
  1. Understanding of principles, practices, and legalities of Commercial Insurance, especially Motor Fleet, Liability, and Freight Liability insurances.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in the UK Commercial Insurance market.
  3. Experience in risk assessment for major Commercial insurance classes, including Fire, Business Interruption, Liability, and Motor Fleet.
  4. Knowledge of industrial processes, security, Health & Safety legislation, and risk management.
  5. Experience developing specific trade or industry sectors.
  6. FSA Regulations related to Commercial Customers.
  7. Report writing and presentation skills.
  8. Sales techniques and methods.
  9. Budget assessment skills.
  10. Cert CII is desirable.
