Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacist with experience in Cancer to develop a specialization in Paediatric Cancer. The ideal candidate prioritizes patient-centered practice and is proactive in their learning.
Full training will be provided. While specialist Paediatric experience is desirable, it is not essential. As a Specialist Pharmacist, you will rotate through various team areas, gaining diverse experience, developing services, and implementing improvements. You will engage with all aspects of Paediatric Cancer, including diagnostic work-up, treatment, managing side effects, and long-term surveillance in both Inpatient and Outpatient settings. Progression to senior roles in years 2-3 offers opportunities to work in complex areas such as BMT, Car-T Cell therapy, Palliative Care, and Clinical Trials.
We seek someone responsible for their own learning who also actively teaches colleagues and the wider network. Opportunities include supervising foundation year and Band 6 Pharmacists during their rotation in Haem-Onc. You will attend ward rounds, MDTs, counsel patients, work on new drugs and protocols, develop guidelines, and contribute to process improvements within and outside Pharmacy.
