We are looking for a full-time Legal Adviser to work within our small team. The Legal Adviser plays an active part in the work of the HFEA, particularly in relation to the work of the policy team, by providing legal support and advice on key areas of regulatory activity and being involved in policy projects.
The post holder will work closely with the Senior Legal Adviser to help provide a responsive and resilient legal service within the organisation and assist with litigation involving the HFEA. The Legal Adviser also supports other colleagues including the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team, addressing issues related to legislation and regulations as they arise, and supporting ongoing work on updating the HFE Act.
We seek a qualified Solicitor/Barrister or equivalent with experience in analyzing legislation to produce practical legal advice, both written and oral. Experience working independently, managing deadlines, and in regulatory, healthcare, or public sector environments, plus litigation experience, are highly valued.
Alongside a salary of £40,000, the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Authority contributes £11,588 towards the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Other benefits include:
