Role Introduction
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious individual to join our growing Procurement team on a hybrid, permanent basis. This role focuses on enhancing our strategic procurement capabilities, transforming workflows, and delivering opportunities that improve EBITDA. We are passionate about our potential and seek someone to develop our talent, champion procurement, and build strong relationships with our technology teams.
This is a hands-on, challenging role where you will significantly contribute to a dynamic, fast-growing business. You will focus on key areas including HR and Legal, with an expectation to be in our Birmingham HQ 2-3 times weekly.
What You Will Do
- Develop and execute category strategies for key technology areas.
- Provide proactive procurement consultation based on a thorough understanding of business needs.
- Utilize optimal sourcing methods to balance cost, risk, quality, and speed. Lead sourcing and negotiations for large, complex contracts.
- Drive efficiencies and global cost savings by leveraging market developments and industry best practices.
- Manage new suppliers and services to maximize benefits like financial gains, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
- Engage stakeholders in discussions about technology innovation opportunities.
- Keep internal teams informed of procurement activities through collaborative and proactive communication.
- Lead initiatives for positive change and continuous improvement in procurement growth.
- Promote data-driven decision-making and automation in procurement processes.
- Implement effective contract management, supplier due diligence, and risk management practices.
What You Will Have
- Strong market knowledge with a proven ability to influence procurement plans and decisions.
- Extensive procurement and contract management experience, with understanding of legal, commercial, and financial principles.
- Knowledge of financial management principles.
- Ability to influence and implement change in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, persistent, and focused on delivery.
- Presence and influence to engage stakeholders at all levels, balancing challenge with pragmatism.
- Excellent problem-solving and relationship-building skills, capable of articulating ideas clearly.
- Comfort working with ambiguity, prioritizing tasks, assessing risks, and making decisions.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a CIPS or equivalent qualification/experience.
