Position: Sustainability Manager
Location: Glasgow, Head Office
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Salary: £34,000 - £40,000 per annum DOE

The Role
You will develop and implement the company’s sustainability strategy setting goals, milestones and measurement. You will inspire, influence and mobilise theMatthew Algie teams to take action and deliver our Net Zero ambition. Whilst delivering value add projects you will ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and engaging on delivery of the Net Zero plan
- Build resilient compliance for EUDR and HREDD
- Lead on the collation, interpretation and reporting of company carbon metrics
- Support ISO14001 delivery and climate change levy reporting
- Establish partnerships with local charities, education providers and community groups
- Coordinate knowledge exchange, mentoring, and training
- Engage the supply chain to achieve scope 3 reduction
- Develop and manage value add projects our coffee supply chain
- Develop partnerships with our customers and suppliers in value-add sustainability projects
- Deliver the Sustainability team budget
Experience
- Experience in sustainability programme management in coffee or related supply chains in a commercial environment
- Experience in managing multi-stakeholder groups in terms of policy delivery and communications including major retailers
- Proven track record in terms of sustainability compliance and reporting
Education/Qualifications/Training
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant topic
- Demonstrable continuous professional development
- Sustainability auditing qualification or experience of reporting frameworks such as SBTi
- Current driving licence
Skills / Knowledge
- Full understanding of coffee value chains
- Understanding of socio-economic and environmental factors impacting on coffee producing communities
- Effective project management
- Working knowledge of retailer specific certification protocols in relation to coffee
- Understanding of customer and consumer market requirements in relation to sustainability
- Able to utilise standard Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint in the development of professional materials for internal and external purposes.
- Effective communicator able to effectively interact and influence internal personnel, suppliers and customers (including multiple retailers) at all levels
- Attention to detail
