ENVIRONMENTAL/SUSTAINABILITY CO-ORDINATOR

JOB PURPOSE

The Environmental/Sustainability Coordinator will work closely with senior management sponsors and the business assurance team to support environmental and sustainability initiatives, focusing on frameworks such as SECR, ESOS, Carbon Reduction, and our responsible business plans. You will play a key role in developing our future roadmap towards net zero and implementing measures to achieve this goal. Additionally, this role involves client reporting, meeting preparations, and fostering a culture of responsible sustainable business practice within the firm. Collaboration across departments is essential to ensure responsible business goals are met and communicated effectively.

CORE TASKS

  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports on metrics, progress, initiatives, and effectiveness.
  • Organise and prepare materials for committee meetings, including agendas, minutes, and follow-up actions.
  • Support and champion our Environmental Management System, coordinating with the business assurance team to maintain certifications.
  • Coordinate and support the activities of the colleague sustainability committee, ensuring timely execution of initiatives and projects.
  • Promote environmental and sustainability awareness among colleagues through workshops, training sessions, and internal communications.
  • Collect, analyse, and report data related to responsible business performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and enhancing responsible business policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance sustainability goals.
  • Identify opportunities for improving environmental and sustainability practices and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure awareness of Brodies' information security policies and protect information assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference.
PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Organised with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Enthusiastic, responsible, flexible, and accountable.
  • Professional attitude towards work, presentation, and manner.
  • Experience in a law or professional services firm is desirable but not essential.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience related to environmental management and sustainability.
  • Project management and administrative experience, including coordinating and implementing projects.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques for interpreting sustainability metrics.
  • Basic understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability principles to support sustainable practices across the firm.
