Our client, a leading world-class Aerospace materials supplier specializing in a comprehensive range of products for the Aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) sector, is recruiting for a Business Development Director. The position is based remotely and reports to the Hertfordshire Office.

Main Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the CEO, the Business Development Director will be responsible for achieving global sales targets, winning new contracts, building an external salesforce, and establishing a structure and culture to support rapid growth and strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve quarterly and yearly sales targets, develop, and secure long-term agreements with major customers (MRO and Airlines) worldwide.
- Spearhead the establishment of a global outside sales team to support double/triple-digit growth levels.
- Collaborate with outside agents, assessing and recruiting as needed to support sales efforts.
- Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of Regional Sales Managers.
- Work with management to ensure excellent customer service and leverage facilities around the world.
- Review and improve current processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop contracting strategies to foster long-term customer relationships.
- Attend trade shows and exhibitions, working closely with marketing to enhance brand awareness.
- Foster a sales growth-oriented culture.
- Develop Long-Term Agreements (LTA) with key customers, including fixed pricing.
- Establish new just-in-time and consignment contracts.
- Coordinate with the inside sales team on responses to RFQs and lead negotiations for major contracts.
- Participate in monthly management meetings, analyze sales data, and report findings.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in international sales and support contract acquisition within the aviation sector, including overseas experience.
- Strong connections with Airlines and MROs, with experience selling maintenance chemicals, consumables, and expendables.
- Experience in military or helicopter aviation sectors is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong networking abilities.
- Organizational and multitasking skills, with a track record of managing teams.
- Proficient IT skills, including business intelligence tools like Power BI.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with KPI understanding.
- Project and time management skills, capable of working under strict deadlines.
