An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Nurse to join our team on Ward 5 as a Band 6 as a full time on a 3 months fixed term/secondment basis. Ward 5 is a 26-bed ward located at Moseley Hall Hospital, providing sub-acute rehabilitation care.
As a Band 6 Nurse on the ward, you will be responsible for leading safe shifts, offering guidance and support to Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates, Trainee nursing associates , Student Nurses and Healthcare Assistants in providing care to their patients. You will work closely with other disciplines within our integrated multidisciplinary team (MDT). In addition, you will manage a team, ensuring that appraisals (PDRs), mandatory training, and sickness management are up to date. You will also be responsible for improving compliance and results in clinical audits.
As part of the role, you will take turns holding the hospital bleep during day or night shifts, so flexibility with shift patterns is essential.

Main duties of the jobAs a band 6 Nurse on the ward, you will be responsible for leading a safe shift offering the Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates and Healthcare Assistants advice and support to care for their patients, you will be doing this alongside the other disciplines within our integrated MDT. Key objectives of the post are to ensure patient safety, support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in developments to improve quality, cleanliness and clinical effectiveness and actively participate in the clinical development and management of staff.
