An exciting opportunity has become available for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist looking to specialise further or a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in Neuropsychiatry to join our team at Cygnet Brunel.
Cygnet Brunel is a 32-bed Neuropsychiatric service, offering neuropsychiatric rehabilitation for individuals with complex acquired brain injury and mental health needs. The hospital is a modern facility designed specifically to provide a clinically led, evidence-based neuropsychiatric pathway for individuals presenting with behaviours that challenge. Our focus is to create a therapeutically rich environment that engages our service users, aiming to minimise their challenging behaviour and maximise their independence.
As an SLT, you will work directly with a specialist caseload of patients with complex needs to assess their speech, communication, and language needs (SCLN) in all environments. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team on-site, supporting the implementation of therapeutic and neuropsychiatric approaches and demonstrating an interest in upskilling the workforce. You will operate within the boundaries of the SLT pathway for neuropsychiatric/neurodegenerative services at the hospital, as part of a small on-site SLT team. Your responsibilities include providing quality assessments, interventions, and being skilled in both SCLN and dysphagia. You will contribute to a company-wide SLT service and help enhance the service.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check, and employment is contingent upon clearance.
