Production Planner

Location: Tewkesbury

Salary: £35k-£45k + Excellent benefits and bonuses

Working Hours: Days

We are currently looking to secure a Production Planner to work for our client on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will use the company’s ERP/MRP systems (SAGE 200/Preactor) to ensure efficient shop floor loading and OTIF customer delivery.

Key responsibilities

1. Ensure the machines are loaded in the most efficient manner, being mindful of the importance of maintaining customer delivery dates.
2. Maintain daily tracking of all live work orders.
3. Produce monthly/weekly forward loading plans for each machine, including manual operations (e.g., deburr, inspection, packing/despatch).
4. Ensure parts are physically moved to the next processes in an expedient manner.
5. Ensure all subcontract order requirements are allocated for purchasing in a timely manner.
6. Ensure all raw materials are issued in a timely manner.
7. Ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) are up to date with set and cycle times accurately recorded.
8. Ensure all raw materials and finished goods stocks are accurately issued to work orders.
9. Implement continuous improvement strategies where opportunities exist.
10. Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO 13485).
11. Identify and troubleshoot production bottlenecks to improve efficiency.
12. Monitor and report on KPIs and production performance.
13. Prioritize workflow to ensure orders are completed monthly, meeting sales targets.
14. Raise purchase requisitions for subcontract operations.
15. Complete administration within SAGE200/Preactor.
16. Liaise with other departments as required and handle requests for information and data.
17. Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, undertake relevant training and development activities, and respond positively to new systems.

The person / Qualifications

1. Proven experience as a Production Planner in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. (Essential)
2. Experience with lean manufacturing and process optimisation (Desirable)
3. Hands-on problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and quality control.
4. Excellent computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). SAGE200 experience is desirable, but training will be provided.
5. Educated to ‘A’-Level (or equivalent) or above.
