Job Description:

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer for a manufacturer based in Cheddar. The role involves traveling across the UK and abroad to service and maintain water treatment systems, with some periods working away from home. Visits are scheduled in advance and fully expensed. As your skills grow, you may participate in commissioning installed systems, which could involve extended periods away from home. Ideally, candidates should be located in Hertfordshire.

Responsibilities include:

1. Servicing and maintaining water treatment systems such as Reverse Osmosis, Deionisers, Filters, Water Softeners, and Effluent Treatment Plants at various customer sites.
2. Managing relationships with customers and plant operators.
3. Analyzing and resolving technical problems onsite and remotely.
4. Completing installation and commissioning of systems (subject to qualifications).
5. Preparing Service Reports and documentation using MS Word.
6. Responding to customer needs in line with technical and commercial standards.
7. Contributing to service improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and profitability.
8. Maintaining high standards of customer care and service.
9. Adhering to all company policies, including Health & Safety regulations.
10. Continuously developing skills and knowledge through self-learning.

Qualifications and experience:

1. Multi-disciplined electro-mechanical engineering background.
2. Experience in the water treatment industry is advantageous.
3. Previous experience as a Service Engineer or in technical support roles is beneficial.
4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. Professional approach with colleagues and customers.
6. Proficiency in MS Office.
7. GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
8. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.

This position is home-based but requires national and international travel. A company vehicle and fuel card are provided.
